Corteva Agriscience will highlight an exceptional innovation milestone at Cereals 2025.
Across its crop protection and seed divisions, the company has added six new products for UK farmers over the past 12 months.
The first applications of the cereal herbicide Broadway® Ultra have taken place in the past month, while maize growers now have access to Pioneer’s P68106 – an early, stiff-strawed variety for forage, biogas and grain production.
Farmers will value the introduction of ProClova® XL, a new clover-safe herbicide, and ProGrass™, a powerful, fast-acting, broad-spectrum grassland herbicide.
"Cereals Event is the perfect platform to celebrate what has been an extraordinary period of product development and launches,” said Corteva’s Marketing Manager, Alex Nichols.
“We’re a company that’s proud to be rooted in innovation, and it’s always pleasing when our product development pipeline delivers the solutions that farmers need here and now.
“We've launched six new products in a single year. During my time with Corteva, I’ve not been able to say that before. Our research and development teams are dedicated to creating sustainable products that protect and enhance farmers' yields while addressing evolving industry challenges.”
For arable farmers, Broadway Ultra is a powerful new tool to manage a wide range of grass weeds including annual meadow grass, and a broad spectrum of challenging broad-leaved weeds.
Combining pyroxsulam and mesosulfuron-methyl, it ensures effective and reliable weed control for winter wheat and winter triticale.
With an increased emphasis on home grown forage, there will be much anticipation about ProClova XL which helps establish newly sown grass with clover leys and enhance productivity of established grassland where weeds are a threat.
ProGrass controls a wide range of key broad-leaved weeds, notably docks, nettles, buttercups and dandelions, and is effective on tough-to-kill hogweed and cow parsley. Its fast-acting formulation, with a short 7-day cutting interval, means treatments between silage cuts are more feasible.
Expanding the Pioneer portfolio of oilseed rape and maize seed, the new maize hybrid P68106 has been proposed for inclusion in the UK National List and is set to be officially added imminently, with first sales expected in 2026. In 2025, Corteva has distributed numerous trial bags of P68106 across the country as part of the Test The Best programme, allowing growers to experience it ahead of its commercial launch in 2026.
Growers can speak to Corteva’s expert maize team about its suitability as a very early-maturing variety which has a range of applications, as well as looking at oilseed rape plots which this year will include hybrids PT303 and PT312. Both varieties combine sclerotinia tolerance and verticillium stem stripe partial resistance.
The team will talk about the PACTS® trialling system, demonstrating one of the weigh wagons used during the process.
Corteva’s biologicals offering is growing rapidly. It includes BlueN™, a nutrient use efficiency bacterium that fixes nitrogen from the atmosphere to feed the crop throughout the growing season, and Kinsidro® Grow+, which stimulates hormonal pathways to encourage stronger root and shoot development.
“Boosting performance, building resilience and protecting potential are the three pillars of Corteva’s biologicals portfolio,” explains Alex.
“It’s a fascinating topic to discuss with farmers who are either experienced with biologicals, or are just making their first enquiries into what they offer. Our technical managers who are working in this area all day, every day, are on hand to explain more.”
Alongside the new products Corteva has launched, there will be plot demonstrations and information about the company’s range of proven products.
Univoq™, the company’s first cereal fungicide launched in the UK, continues to offer excellent disease control of septoria and rusts, boosted by its unique Inatreq™ active molecule to protect plants and improve yields.
Zorvec Entecta™ has built a similarly-solid reputation for late blight control in potatoes.
Oilseed rape herbicides such as post-emergence spray Belkar®, and winter-applied Astrokerb® and Kerb® Flo 500, are core products where tough grass weeds are concerned, plus broad-leaved weeds with Astrokerb.
Korvetto® continues to deliver outstanding control of a wide range of broad leaved weeds in the spring.
“We’ve also invested in ensuring our products work practically on farms, making agronomists’ and farmers’ lives as easy as possible,” explains Alex.
“Farmers purchasing broad-leaved weed herbicide Pixxaro® in 2025 will see the product has new, more sustainable packaging and an integrated easyconnect cap as part of an innovative design overhaul. We plan on expanding this to the rest of our five-litre herbicide containers by 2027.”
