Corteva’s products and advice impress in a challenging season

Something went wrong. Please try again later...

Corteva’s impressive innovations were showcased to thousands of farmers and agronomists at CropTec 2019.

Advice on how to get the best from existing products in a challenging season plus a look at the company’s exciting pipeline drove the crowds to the stand where the all-new Corteva Arable App was also being launched.

Simon Parker, head of marketing, said: “There was a great buzz about our stand at CropTec with farmers and trade wanting to know about our current and future pipeline as well as seeking advice on which products to use in a season that is already presenting many challenges for our customers.”

BASIS and NRoSO points were on offer and Corteva’s technical specialists advised farmers on how to implement an alternative approach to spring herbicide plans for cereal and oilseed rape crops.

Broadway Star is expected to play an important role in grassweed control given the lack of autumn sprays applied to winter cereals. And farmers were keen to learn how capable Pixxaro and Zypar are in spring-sown crops.

With an application window until 31 December, many oilseed rape growers will be hoping to still tackle key problem weeds with Belkar – a new post-emergence herbicide for superior control of cleavers, cranesbill, fumitory, poppies and shepherd’s purse.

But they will be grateful for the arrival of Korvetto – approved earlier this autumn – which contains Arylex Active plus clopyralid.

Korvetto will be available in the spring and provides superior control of a wide range of broad-leaved weeds including the key weeds cleavers, mayweed and thistles.

The Corteva Arable App – available on iOS  – was launched to give farmers and advisers everything they need to know about the company’s products at their fingertips.  It ensures farmers and their staff have the information to apply the best product for the job in the optimum conditions.

Farmers and agronomists showed huge levels of interest in Inatreq active, eager to find out more about the new cereal fungicide with a unique site of action, robust disease control, and flexible application, rate, timing and volume.

The UK is expected to be the first country in the world to receive authorisation for the product in time for first applications at the T2 timing in May.  Read more about Inatreq here.
