Primary End Use: Forage and Grain

NEW FOR 2026

P68106 was registered late spring 2025 in the UK and Europe ready for the first full season of sales in 2026. It is a flint grain textured hybrid that has taken the position of the earliest maturing hybrid in the Pioneer range.

P68106 was tested in PACTS trials in 2024 over three less favourable locations and it gave a dry matter content of 32.7%. This was 3.5% higher than the PACTS control hybrid P7034. In UK Official trials over 9 locations and two years of testing P68106 gave a dry matter content of 38.2%, which was 5.0% higher than the average dry matter content of the control hybrids.

These high dry matter content values have been achieved in large part because of very high starch contents. In PACTS trials P68106 has given a starch content on less favourable sites in the multi-year summary of 39.9%. In officials trials over 8 locations in 2023 and 2024 P68106 gave a starch content of 41.3%.

P68106 has shown very good early vigour and very good resistance to lodging. P68106 has shown good resistance to Eyespot (Aureobasidium zeae) for a hybrid of this extreme earliness with a PACTS score of 5.4.
